Although player run empires are all Human in Takamo Universe, there will be plenty of alien races scattered throughout what is left of the Five Galaxies. Case in point; the Kratek Horde. They are distant cousins of the Phantatwain. Although half the size, their physical speed and strength are formidable. Politically, the Kratek and Phantatwain are loosely tied as allies.
An excerpt from a story by Gary Mays entitled “Kratek Horde Justice”:
“The place (Crantium) was overrun with bug – BIG bugs, once you left the intergalactic trading port. Actually they are about 3 to 3 ½ feet tall/long and resembled ants. At six foot he towered over these bugs. Not like going to a Phantatwain world where they were as tall or taller than him. Initially he thought they were just laborers for the port when they were unloading his legal goods. Now he realized that he had landed on a “bug” planet. Looking up in his Galactic Encyclopedia of Races and Beings he discovered that Crantium is one of the planets ruled by the Kratek Horde. A race of ant like beings. Great, just great. A bug planet. As it seemed that no other traders were concerned, and the bugs did not bother anyone, he went about his business…”
What does this mean for players in Takamo Universe?
Alien units and resources will be discovered as empires expand. Opportunities for peaceful cooperation as well as bitter conflict will abound.
