We continue our world building efforts via the writers group. They are doing a great job. We now have background information on a number of NPC empires that have never been discussed in Takamo lore. Players encountered their planets and fought or traded with them but they never knew much about them. Now, through the efforts of the writers group, they are beginning to show themselves.
In addition to the writers group, we are digging through old records and newsletters to glean details about ancient empires. Here are some examples of the things we learned this week:
Lotharian Pirates
A Lotharian Pirate raid in the H13 star cluster resulted in captured data that significantly improved Lotharian technologies.
The Lotharian turbojet military transport aircraft was called a Helipod.
A coiled viper was the insignia of the Lotharian Military Intelligence Bureau.
Vondrock was a common first name in Lotharian culture.
Thresher
Thresher was a nomad race in three of the Five Galaxies; Deltar, Baxel and Celsus.
Star-Marawders
Star-Marawders was an agricultural corporation in the Estra galaxy.
Marax
Marax, a cyber race was active in the Estra and Deltar galaxies.
Nagai
Nagai was a biological race in the Estra galaxy.
Phantatwain Nomads
Twain means King in Phantatwain languages.
The first emperor of the Phantatwain Empire was Twain Alpha IV. His chief accomplishments for the empire were in the areas of science, history, and government record reform.
Socrat was a famous teacher of the Phantatwain.
Microtext technology was a Phantatwain invention.
NP is the translated abbreviation for the Phantatwain Calendar.
Twain Antol X took the Phantatwain throne after the death of Alpha IV in PH 1224.
He was later murdered by Phantatwain rebels.
Twain Myrmecocystus VII ruled and prevailed against the rebels during the First Phantatwain Rebellion.
Twain Antol XI ruled next and waged a war against the Seth Naf Gar Nomads and their allies. He died in NP 1312.
Twain Alpha Pi III took the throne in NP 1313. He had an old war wound head injury that affected his mental capacity. He was violent and compulsive. Many good government officials and over a hundred million soldiers died in his ill conceived campaigns and programs. He was ultimately placed in a mental institution by Antus V in a bloodless coup.
Twain Alpha Pi III escaped from his prison and began a rebel movement with a small following.
What does this mean for Takamo Universe Players?
The actions of your empire and the NPC responses in the game will have their roots in the past histories and the current alliances of those empires. Little bits of information may yield tec advances or point to hidden treasures of the galaxy.
