The Stellar Cloud: Call For Content? – 09/18/2014

Last November, as we set about building our website and populating the various sections, we created a number of linked pages entitled “Call For Content.”

In that section, we listed a variety of content requests such as fiction pieces, artwork, player ship designs, tec proposals and music composition requests. Much to our disappointment, the site didn’t get a single content submission. We had to admit to ourselves that we needed to get the word out before the section would be a viable part of Takamo Universe development.

Now, ten months later, with a PBEM version of the game running and a fair number of stories being developed, it may be the right time to put the section back on the website. Just this afternoon a player suggested a system where each empire would have their own subpage on a Takamo Races webpage or Wikipedia page. A reward system could be set up where you could add a picture of your leader and/or your spaceship design or through service to the Takamo community rewards for things like being a forum moderator, writing a new player help guide, sponsoring a fiction contest, etc. Rewards for these could be things like artist rendition of your marine unit, picture of your homeworld, etc. These pages could also be done for NPC empires and any page could be looked up by any player.

The “Call For Content Page” is certainly something that we would love to bring back to keep our own creative juices flowing and to create a dialogue between players and developers that would result in a rich background and hopefully a better experience for players online in Takamo Universe.

So, we are asking for player feedback. Do we reopen the Call for Content pages or do we wait? Let us know what you think!
