The Stellar Cloud: What’s in YOUR star-port? – 08/07/14

The operational life of human military craft designs in the 21st century often reached nearly fifty years. However, that was nothing when compared to the operational lifespan of Terran and other starship designs which, with regular upgrades and refits, could last hundreds of years.

A good example of the extended lifespan is the “Boxer” class starship frame designed by the Stelltron Corporation. The Boxer was designed in 2553 as a multipurpose frame that could be fitted out as a commercial cargo carrier; civilian passenger vessel; command and control military ship; troop transport; electronic warfare platform; battlecruiser, and the list goes on. The Boxer was a favored frame of the Borthan Empire after the rebellion of several client empires crippled their arms industry. Boxers were affordable, and Stelltron’s ability to mass produce any variant gave the Borthans the military reach they needed at a critical time in their history. It also filled Stelltron’s coffers with coin.

The best known variant in the Borthan star fleet was the Seriant class battlecruiser. Seriants were the backbone of the fleet that held the Gedi and Geddan cybernetic fleets at bay as the biologicals withdrew from the Rimward Reaches during the initial phase of the cybernetic revolt.

Boxer ship frames remain a cheap and versatile frame that is still in the Stelltron inventory.
