The key reality in Takamo was that players tend to move toward skills and technologies that fit their personalities much like real life and we expect that will happen in tis game as well

    Continually expanding universe
Takamo Universe expands and populates as players move out into the stars. The three dimensional universe never ends. Player interaction with ancient empires, alien trade zones and diplomatic enclaves will affect the political face of the universe.

Think of an interconnecting sphere of tech nodes that allow you to develop along multiple paths in any direction you want, including tons of varied mining abilities and technologies…

    Interstellar trade
Once your trade networks link with another empire and your diplomats have signed trade agreements, you’ll be able to move your trade vessels along the established trade routes of the other empire. The more empires you link by trade, the more your empire will prosper.

    Employ special operations squads
You will recruit and train spec ops squads to engage in sensitive missions like cooperative quests, artifact hunting, counter terrorism and special strikes, to name but a few.

Nomads had the ability to move their planets. Hyperspace engines the size of great cities folded space and allowed them to jump their worlds to new orbits around nearby stars. Maintaining atmosphere in this process was a highly guarded secret.

Whenever a Nomad Platform jumped, any fleets in orbit came along for the ride. The Nomad empires used this to good effect in their wars with other races. Their platforms often acted as giant transports with many Nomad and allied warships in tow as they jumped directly into enemy star systems.

Grishaka empire clans were among the first of the alien lords to realize the futility of resistance to the cybernetics. They left the Radnian Cluster early in the Third Age. Rumors of sightings persist, however.

The scale of the game is the first thing that I think of. Takamo was big but Takamo Universe is simply massive and it will continue to grow and evolve as empires move out into space. The limitations on the number of starships and fleets (squadrons in TU) are gone. You have buckets and buckets of ships and empire stuff…

The economics are more localized. Empires will have to move wealth and materials around the empire via cargo vessels along established trade routes that will have to be patrolled by escort vessels. There are more than just RUs inthe new game. Raw materials, finished goods and military supplies all play a part.

Tech research is also much different. Gone are the set tec levels. Now the empire can follow multiple tech paths that lead to all sorts of possible abilities, installations and technologies.

The game now has a history and a back story that plays a part in the evolution of the universe. Ancient archives are spread throughout the galaxy and they contain research shortcuts or enhancements and clues to ancient tech waiting to be discovered. Ancient enemies lurk in the darkness as well as new alien enclaves that can help promote trade or act as a center for diplomacy and economic benefit.

Thre’s plenty more, like the ability to design your starship class or the use of leaders to control fleets and planets.

Name the empire and galaxy if you recall. If not, you’re probably old…like me.
