    Continually expanding universe
Takamo Universe expands and populates as players move out into the stars. The three dimensional universe never ends. Player interaction with ancient empires, alien trade zones and diplomatic enclaves will affect the political face of the universe.

Awesome stuff. I see some things in there (such as the economics) that are part of my fascination with EVE Online (probably the current 800-lb gorilla in the space MMO sector).

The scale of the game is the first thing that I think of. Takamo was big but Takamo Universe is simply massive and it will continue to grow and evolve as empires move out into space. The limitations on the number of starships and fleets (squadrons in TU) are gone. You have buckets and buckets of ships and empire stuff…

The economics are more localized. Empires will have to move wealth and materials around the empire via cargo vessels along established trade routes that will have to be patrolled by escort vessels. There are more than just RUs inthe new game. Raw materials, finished goods and military supplies all play a part.

Tech research is also much different. Gone are the set tec levels. Now the empire can follow multiple tech paths that lead to all sorts of possible abilities, installations and technologies.

The game now has a history and a back story that plays a part in the evolution of the universe. Ancient archives are spread throughout the galaxy and they contain research shortcuts or enhancements and clues to ancient tech waiting to be discovered. Ancient enemies lurk in the darkness as well as new alien enclaves that can help promote trade or act as a center for diplomacy and economic benefit.

Thre’s plenty more, like the ability to design your starship class or the use of leaders to control fleets and planets.

A question for the Takamo Universe team: When old Takamo players are discussing Takamo Universe with new players, what would the development team see as 2-3 of the most crucial things you would like prospective players to hear?
