Shameless Birthday Wish Report!

October 29, 2014

Success!

The diabolical shameless birthday wish resulted in not one but two cool art acquisitions for Takamo Universe! Thanks go out David Bellar, Larry Lawrence, David Williams, Len Ritnour (the dreaded Gedi Knights), and Georgia (Mom), for making this a reality!

THANK YOU!

So, what do pretty pictures have to do with Takamo Universe? The answers are R&D, Installation Builds, and Exploration Discovery. When you are working in research and development and you complete a tec advance that leads to Sky Elevators that speeds up the loading and unloading of your cargo ships, you are going to want to see what this baby looks like. Now, we could just put up a line drawing or a mono-color icon that vaguely represent a sky elevator. Now an icon is no different than a picture so far as game mechanics are concerned but there is a huge difference as far as the quality of the game that you experience. I can’t speak for you but I know that I want to be immersed in the Five Galaxies. I want to feel the atmosphere, not just point and click a bunch of flat lifeless buttons.

So, insofar as we have the resources to make it happen, this is the view you will have of R&D and installation builds in Takamo Universe:

The tower in the distance is a sky elevator. It is an installation that permits starships to be efficiently loaded and unloaded from orbit.

This facility engages in massive and deep geothermal drilling for energy generation and advanced geothermal R&D.

Both art pieces are by Dusty Crosley. A talented artist who is looking forward to working with the Takamo Universe Development Team. His works can be seen at http://www.artstation.com/artist/dustycrosley and on Deviantart at http://dustycrosley.deviantart.com/

If you like what you see, I urge you to contribute to help us bring more of these pieces to the game.
